The Vanishing Lake
From the town of Jasper, a 1 hour drive to Maligne Canyon, you will stop at one of the most scenic vista in this part of the National park.
The Medicine Lake, is arguably one of the most unique lake. Every year usually winter or spring, the lake vanishes or seems to vanish. This is catwalk going down the lake, during our visit the lake is quite full.
We had to make our shots quick as we are hoping to capture good light in Maligne Lake which was about 30mins from this point. The 16mm is not wide enough to contain the entire scene, thus the shot being tight. Filters are also not enough to contain the variation of dynamic range in the scene BUT this shot comes from 1 raw file and is not blended exposure.
